This Other Eden by Paul Harding

, This Other Eden by Paul HardingI was looking forward to loving this book. I did find the tale of the fate of Apple Island compelling and terribly sad, however the telling was more opaque and irregularly ordered than necessary. In addition, the old testament references felt heavy handed and a bit forced. Harding’s writing is lyrical and beautiful, sure, but sometimes clarity and linearity go a long way if one is keeping the reader in mind.
